Using the proxy checker

Test public HTTP, HTTPS or SOCKS5 proxies and understand what each result means.

Run a check

  1. Open the proxy checker.
  2. Paste one proxy per line, or import a text file with one address per line. You can submit up to 100 lines; exact duplicates are removed.
  3. Choose the default protocol for addresses without a scheme. A full proxy URL overrides that choice.
  4. Choose a timeout of 2, 5, 8 or 15 seconds.
  5. Select Check proxies. Pause, resume or stop the queue as needed.
Accepted checker formats
PROXY_HOST:PROXY_PORT
PROXY_HOST:PROXY_PORT:PROXY_USERNAME:PROXY_PASSWORD
https://PROXY_USERNAME:PROXY_PASSWORD@PROXY_HOST:PROXY_PORT
socks5://PROXY_HOST:PROXY_PORT

Replace every placeholder with a real public proxy. Private, loopback and internal addresses are blocked. Email-service ports are not supported.

Check a specific target

Expand Check a target website and enter an HTTPS URL on port 443. Do not include credentials or a fragment. The checker verifies the exit IP with Cloudflare first, then requests your target through the same configured proxy. Redirects are not followed.

A rotating gateway can choose a different exit IP for the second request. The displayed IP and country belong to the first verification request.

Read the results

ResultMeaning
WorkingThe proxy returned a verified public exit IP. It does not mean the target accepted the request.
Target statusThe target’s HTTP response, if requested. A 301 or 302 is a redirect; a 403 or 429 can appear even when the proxy is Working.
Response timeElapsed check time, including exit-IP verification and the optional target request.
FailedThe check could not complete. Inspect its error before retrying.

Limits and source IP

The free checker allows up to 30 checks per minute and 300 per day per network, subject to shared service capacity. A 429 response pauses the queue; wait before trying again. Tests use your proxy’s traffic allowance.

Requests originate from Crawlhub’s servers, not your device. A proxy that only allows your device’s public IP may reject the checker. Do not weaken your allowlist to get a green result; test locally instead.

Credentials and exports

Proxy addresses and any credentials are sent over HTTPS to the checker to make the test. They are not saved to your account. Results stay in page memory and are cleared when you reload.

CSV result exports omit proxy credentials. Copy working proxies copies your original input, including credentials if you supplied them. Treat that clipboard content as a secret.
